Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

I thought I posted this recipe a long time ago, but I can’t find it on here so I must have just meant to and never did. Anyway, I made these the other night and what brought to my attention that I hadn’t posted this yet was that I could not find the dang recipe on here. I had to resort to my old fashioned hand written recipe for it. I’m sure most of you have been to Red Lobster…if not, please go, it really is delish. So Red Lobster is pretty famous for their wonderful “cheddar bay biscuits”, well this is a copy-cat recipe and it is just as good! This recipe makes about 10-12 biscuits. They’re so good Andrew and I usually eat all 12 of them by ourselves. 6 for him and 6 for me is only fair.

What You Need:
Biscuits:
-2.5 cups of Bisquick
-4 Tablespoons of cold butter
-1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
-3/4 cup of milk
-1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder

Glaze:
-3 Tablespoons of melted butter
-1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
-3/4 teaspoon of parsley

Directions:
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees
-Grease a large cookie sheet
-Combine Bisquick and cold butter in a medium bowl. (I used my stand mixer, but before I had one I just used a fork)
-Add cheese, milk, and garlic. (I used the dough hook on my stand mixer otherwise mix by hand)
-Place dough balls (They won’t be round. The dough is sticky & that’s what makes them look not perfectly shaped) on the cookie sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes.

-Mix together melted butter, garlic, and parsley
-While the biscuits are in the oven cooking, brush the glaze over the tops of them and continue cooking.

I had Andrew’s cake made as a surprise for him. It’s a combine harvesting with a tractor and grain buggy on the side ready to haul a load to the big truck! It was a big hit!

edmondsrowlett_375 edmondsrowlett_382 edmondsrowlett_383

Our adorable monogrammed champagne glasses from Etsy! Andrew is 6’3 and I’m 5’8 so he was too tall for me to reach my glass! I had to make him squat down!

edmondsrowlett_373 edmondsrowlett_362 edmondsrowlett_366

I tried to add our personal touches to everything I could!

Bouquet and garter toss! Our course these were going straight to Jordan and Joe! We love our best friends, they love us, and they love each other! 🙂

Our Wedding – Ceremony

Alright, this is post number 3 in the series and it’s all about the ceremony! First off, photographer is Megan Burges of Megan Burges Photography http://www.meganburges.com. Look her up, she’s fabulous! The venue is Stan Jones Mallard Lodge http://www.stanjonesmallardlodge.com. They’re awesome to work with!

edmondsrowlett_244 edmondsrowlett_245

Let’s start this post off with my flower girl, Ever, looking absolutely amazing! She’s carrying a white daisy kissing ball with blue ribbon. Her dress was made by Katie D’s Creations on Etsy!

edmondsrowlett_246

My girls dresses looked so good up front with their white hydrangea bouquets. The color combo was great! The dresses are by Bari Jay!

edmondsrowlett_255 edmondsrowlett_256

Jackson and Christopher cracked me up. I gave them a little talk before they walked out about making sure they carried the sign together and they both kept holding on to it. They got to these steps and stopped trying to figure out how to go down at the same time. It was precious! The sign also came from Etsy.

edmondsrowlett_249 edmondsrowlett_252 edmondsrowlett_258

No matter how good we all looked, Splash and Hub definitely stole the show!  Everyone was talking about them coming down the aisle and they did such a great job! When they got to the front Andrew’s Best Man, Garrett, had their leashes in his pocket. They sat behind Andrew through the entire ceremony. They were supposed to wear ties I got from Etsy, but they wouldn’t stay on their collars.

edmondsrowlett_263 edmondsrowlett_268 edmondsrowlett_271

Finally, my Dad and I came down the aisle and he had to give me away. The look on Andrew’s face is priceless!

edmondsrowlett_273

I love this picture! This is our wedding! Ahh!

 edmondsrowlett_285 edmondsrowlett_287 edmondsrowlett_288

And we are Mr. and Mrs. Rowlett!

edmondsrowlett_291 edmondsrowlett_294

And they lived happily ever after!

edmondsrowlett_298 edmondsrowlett_299 edmondsrowlett_301

Well, first, we had to stop and call the boys back to us. They didn’t come back up the aisle quiet as well as they went down though. They could hear us calling their names but they couldn’t see us so they ran through all the guests like crazy dogs looking for us! It was so funny and everyone was laughing. Definitely a priceless moment in our day!

Our Wedding – Decor

This is the second post in this series so be sure to check out the others with the rest of my wedding pictures! All pictures were taken by Megan Burges of Megan Burges Photography. She’s amazing and you can find her at http://www.meganburges.com. This post will be the decor from our wedding. Megan got some great pictures of it and I have to share them with yall! Our wedding venue (ceremony & reception) was Stan Jones Mallard Lodge in Clover Bend, AR. You can find them at http://www.stanjonesmallardlodge.com They were so wonderful to work with!

edmondsrowlett_177 edmondsrowlett_358

I actually didn’t use these arrangements as my center pieces, but I had them sitting around all over the venue. One of my bridesmaid’s mom, Dee Ezell, made all of them. She did a great job!

edmondsrowlett_180 edmondsrowlett_200

I used a ton of lanterns throughout my entire venue. The ceremony started at 6pm with the reception immediately after so it was sunset during the ceremony & dark for the reception and it created a beautiful setting with all the candles and lanterns.

edmondsrowlett_360  edmondsrowlett_197

edmondsrowlett_198edmondsrowlett_183

edmondsrowlett_204 edmondsrowlett_181

On the big tables I had a blue table runner, 2 log candles, and one lantern. My dad and stepdad actually made all the log candles. My dad cut the logs from a tree on the farm and my stepdad drilled all the holes for the candles. On the small bistro tables I just had a single lantern. Down the aisle at the ceremony site is used giant lanterns to line it. They were SO pretty!

edmondsrowlett_359 edmondsrowlett_189 edmondsrowlett_185

I made all these chalkboards & I love that they’re personal to us! Andrew is a farmer and October is right in the middle of harvest. We didn’t go on our honeymoon until December because he couldn’t leave the farm until harvest was over. The morning after our wedding he literally woke up and went back to work.

edmondsrowlett_190 edmondsrowlett_191 edmondsrowlett_217

Our programs were in a large blue bowl with rice stalks around it. (Andrew’s a rice farmer) We gave our guests a glass of champagne as the came in. A little kick start to the festivities!

edmondsrowlett_202

And here’s a peak at the ceremony site before the guests arrived so don’t miss the ceremony pictures post!

Our Wedding

Andrew & I finally said “I Do” on October 12, 2013. Back before the wedding I promised I would share our wedding photos with yall. I know, that was 3 months ago and I’m a little late, but better late than never, right? First I want to say that my photographer, Megan Burges, is absolutely amazing! Seriously, she is the best photographer in the history of photographers. She is the owner of Megan Burges Photography and you can find her at http://www.meganburges.com She’s formerly Megan Clemence and you’ve probably seen her on Pinterest, so yeah, that’s her too. We love her. I have a ton of great pictures to share, so I’m going to split this up into more than one post. Some before wedding pics, ceremony pics, and then after ceremony pics. They’re all great.

edmondsrowlett_021

My gown was by Allure Couture. it was beaded from top to bottom and it was so heavy it left marks on my hips! So worth it though! The wood hanger with Mrs. Rowlett on the wire was from Etsy.

edmondsrowlett_023edmondsrowlett_024

Andrew had my engagement ring made for me based off a ring I had found on Pinterest. Holly from Holly’s Jewelry in Mtn. Home, Arkansas made the ring. Both our wedding bands came from Zales. I originally wanted white peonies for my bouquet, but they aren’t in season in October. I ordered big full blown out white garden roses and was extremely upset when the florist arrived on the day of my wedding with this rose bouquet…

edmondsrowlett_080 edmondsrowlett_083-1

My Dad’s “first look” The time my Dad has on is extra special. Yes, it’s a really ugly purple grape tie and he wore it with his tux at my wedding. When I was younger I used to buy my Dad a tie for Christmas every year. (In my defense, he wore a tie to work every day.) When I was 3 I picked this tie out for him. My family tried to tell me that it was not a very good looking tie, but I didn’t care, I wanted that one. He has worn it and kept it ever since. We always joked about the purple grape tie.

 edmondsrowlett_041 edmondsrowlett_103

I love these girls! I had them all monogrammed button up shirts made. Their blue dressed are made by Bari Jay. In the formal picture is Krystal, Katie (Andrew’s sister), Me, Jordan (Maid of Honor), Julie, and Jordan.

edmondsrowlett_129 edmondsrowlett_130 edmondsrowlett_132

This is my niece Ever. She’s my precious sweet adorable flower girl. I love her to pieces! She was 3 years old at the time of our wedding and looking to die for in this dress from Katie D’s Creations on Etsy!

edmondsrowlett_146 edmondsrowlett_165 edmondsrowlett_127

Looking equally as cute as Ever is Jackson and Christopher! These are our nephews and they carried an adorable sign during the ceremony. How handsome are they in their little tiny tuxes?! I love the picture of Jack in the middle, Megan captured a great moment there!

edmondsrowlett_126 edmondsrowlett_135

edmondsrowlett_134 edmondsrowlett_133

Our dogs, Splash and Hub, are extremely important to us. Our wedding would have not been personal to us at all if they had not been involved. They were not just there for pictures though, they were a major part of our ceremony also! You’ll see! 🙂

edmondsrowlett_138

Pretty handsome group of men right there, huh? That’s Kyle (my brother), Jeff (Andrew’s brother), Joe (Andrew’s friend & my Maid of Honor Jordan’s boyfriend), Garrett, and Chris (Andrew’s brother)

edmondsrowlett_166

I gave my parents, grandparents, and Mother-In-Law all personalized handkerchiefs before the wedding. This was my MIL’s. It says  “Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dream. He is proud to be your son, and I am blessed to be his wife.”

edmondsrowlett_069 edmondsrowlett_210

Getting zipped up. That’s Sam, she did my hair and make-up. She’s in Searcy, Arkansas and you can find her on Facebook at Samantha Shaw Cosmetologist. She’s pretty awesome and she’s been one of my best friend’s since we met in college.

edmondsrowlett_071 edmondsrowlett_074

I got my garters off Etsy and my shoes are Jessica Simpson from Dillards. Be sure to stick around for the rest of my posts with pictures of our decor, the ceremony, and reception!

Sour Cream Crock Pot Chicken

I actually forgot to take a picture of this before it was all eaten up so I have no picture to show. That’s okay though because it doesn’t look near as good as it tastes. Actually, it doesn’t look very good at all, but we all know looks can be deceiving! Plus, this is a crock pot recipe so of course we all love it because it’s easy! Woo!

What You Need:
-Boneless skinless chicken breasts. (This recipe will cover up to 8, but I only used 2)
-2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
-1 cup of sour cream
-1/2 cup of flour
-Bacon (However many chicken breasts you have is how many slices you need. I had 2 slices)
-Garlic powder, salt, & pepper

Directions:
-In a medium bowl mix together sour cream, soup, flour, & spices. (Use as much garlic, salt, & pepper as you would like)
-In a frying pan cook bacon, but not all the way. Just enough to cook a little of the fat out, but it still needs to be “bendy” (You know, not hard and crispy)
-Wrap each chicken breast with one piece of bacon & place in the crock pot.
-Pour soup mixture over chicken in the crock pot.
-Cover & cook on LOW for 6-8 hours.
